Anyone managing a large product catalog with multiple variants in Odoo knows that setting reorder points one SKU at a time is not a realistic workflow. The manual process is time-consuming, error-prone, and essentially unscalable once your catalog gets past a certain size.
Odoo’s import feature solves this. You export your current product variants to CSV, add columns for minimum quantity, maximum quantity, and location, populate the reorder points in bulk, and import back into the system. The key to making it work is including the External ID in your export – that’s what Odoo uses to match imported rows back to the right product records.
For retailers and distributors with large SKU counts, this is the difference between a replenishment setup that takes days and one that takes an hour. The data structure is straightforward once you’ve done it once, and the resulting reorder rules run automatically without any further manual intervention.
