I’ve been doing this for 10 years, and this is probably the weirdest of the partnerships I’ve seen from salesforce.com (and that’s counting the friend – unfriend Google thing). I think it works for customers- linking Office 365 tightly to salesforce.com, and so I see what SF gets for it, but what does Microsoft get out of it? If I were a Dynamics partner, I’d be furious! For 10 years they’ve been saying – “yeah, our product stinks, but its seamless with Outlook! San salesforce.com say that?” Well, now they can (or at the end of the year they can).
This is the kind of stuff that makes me certain I could never run a Fortune XX company. And I can’t tell if it’s because I SEE the forest better than they do, or it’s just that the damned tress are in the way…
