How We Helped Trans Chicago
Trans Chicago Truck Group has built its name across Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana as an Elite Support Certified Freightliner, Western Star, and Isuzu dealer, with Transcraft and Benson trailers backing up a parts and service operation that runs more than 100 bays and stocks fifteen million dollars in inventory. Their Training and Innovation Center reflects the same commitment on the technician side that their sales floor has carried for years. What they didn’t have was a CRM built to match the size of that operation, and without one, their sales team was flying blind, tracking deals on spreadsheets and memory while the dealership around them kept growing.
We built Trans Chicago’s Salesforce instance around the full sales process a truck dealer actually runs, from lead intake through the trade-in math on a closed deal. Products were structured to mirror Procede’s own vehicle tables, down to VIN, body type, scale weight, axle and tire counts, so reps were working with the same data the DMS already had instead of re-entering it by hand. On top of that we built a custom Add-On configurator so reps could stack options like daylight doors, lockers, chrome, and Bluetooth onto a specific unit, and a trade-in tool that let them price a deal net of whatever the customer was rolling in, whether that vehicle already existed as a product or got created on the fly.
Getting a quote in front of a customer used to mean pulling numbers from more than one place. We fixed that with Conga Composer, generating a Quote, a Bill of Sale, and a Spec Sheet straight out of Salesforce with photos, pricing, and trade-in values already built in, so a rep can hand a customer a finished document in the time it used to take to find the right numbers.
The Procede integration runs underneath all of it. We built five separate scheduled syncs, one each for Accounts, Repair Orders, Parts Orders, Sales Orders, and Inventory, each one watching for a changed modified date and upserting the record back into Salesforce against the matching Procede ID. That means a rep pulling up an account sees live repair history, parts activity, and inventory position without leaving the CRM. We layered RigDig fleet data on top of it the same way, matching incoming records against existing Accounts and Leads by RigDig ID, updating what already existed and creating a new Lead when it didn’t. On the territory side, we deployed Salesforce Maps with up to twelve custom layers so reps and managers could see accounts, visit history, and sales performance by geography instead of by spreadsheet.
The legacy data came in from three different systems, Procede, Arcadium, and Sales-I, and got migrated into one Salesforce org so the sales team wasn’t starting from a blank slate. Today, Trans Chicago’s leadership can open a single dashboard and see individual accounts representing up to forty nine million dollars in lifetime truck purchases alongside open pipeline and rep activity, all in one place, a long way from the spreadsheets they started with.
How We Can Help You
If your dealership runs on Procede and your sales team is still working out of spreadsheets, side notes, or whatever a rep remembers from the last visit, you already know what that costs you. Deals fall through the cracks, quotes take longer than they should, and nobody above the sales floor has a real picture of the pipeline. We build the CRM around the DMS you already run, not the other way around, so your reps get live Procede data in the tool they’re actually using and your managers get visibility they don’t have to chase down. Whether that means Salesforce Maps for territory coverage, Conga Composer for faster quoting, or a full Procede integration like Trans Chicago’s, we scope it around how your dealership actually sells trucks.
Why It Matters
A DMS like Procede is built to run the back of the house, parts, service, inventory, the operational core of a dealership. It was never built to help a rep close a deal or a manager see the pipeline. The dealerships that get the most out of Procede are the ones that connect it to a CRM built for their sales team, so the data the DMS already has stops living in one place and starts showing up wherever a rep or a manager needs it. That’s the gap we closed for Trans Chicago, and it’s the same gap most truck dealers are sitting on without realizing it.
